These 26 photos, which are in chronological order, show how I spent 18 January 2007. This was an exciting day for me--unlike any I had previously experienced. In later years I had similar excitement in Ethiopia and Kenya, which were my inspiration for a “Mud in…” series. But the “Deadliest Roads” series on YouTube has already done this better than I could.
These are time capsules that I made after five major events in my life. I call them time capsules because they incorporate items and photos from those events and because they are designed to evoke my memory of those events when I see them. The square frames are 61 cm wide. In some cases names and contact information are covered by a blue marker in the photos.
Everything changes, and nothing is more vulnerable than the beautiful.
